Casual basketball

Practise your basketball skills in our two-court stadium. Simply gather your friends, bring your own ball, and head to our stadium during our session times.

Rules

  • All casual shooting sessions end 30 minutes prior to the closure of the facility.
  • Please note, court availability may change at any point (view stadium availability).
  • During casual times and allocated spaces, there is to be no coaching on the courts. All organised training sessions and coaching needs to be supported and booked by your club or association.

Join a basketball team

Warragul and District Amateur Basketball Association is home of the Warragul Warriors basketball team and services West Gippsland including Bunyip, Yarragon and Neerim South.

Basketball competitions are held at Warragul Leisure Centre stadium, at our sister stadium Bellbird Park Indoor Centre, as well as other locations.

Levels Game times
Development programs – Aussie Hoops and the new Under 8’s program (designed for beginners, boys and girls to develop skills and introduce the game of basketball in a fun atmosphere in readiness for competition games). Saturday mornings
Domestic competition – we have eight clubs participating in the junior domestic program for boys and girls, starting from U10’s – U19’s. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings
Warriors Squad Program – players registered with any junior club are eligible to tryout and train for the Warriors Squad which represent Warragul throughout Victoria. This is an integral part of representative basketball for Basketball Victoria Country and can lead to ITCP and state team selections. Visit their website for more information.
Teams playing in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (metro) which is the pinnacle of junior basketball. Players are selected from squad teams to represent Warragul Warriors, allowing for a greater level of opposition in a weekly game. Friday evenings across Victoria
CBL – State based elite senior competition, allowing for a greater level of opposition. Season runs from October through to February
Seniors Basketball Competition – this is open to any players to register a team. Monday nights evenings
